Those same tines were on the original G1 version and were used for stability. So I'd lean towards him walking.

I wouldn't call him boring, but until we see more he just looks like an upscaled version of his G1 self. So not very exciting.

Yeah, I was hoping for a more updated design, especially since our understanding of T-Rexs having changed a lot since the 80s. I still wanna see more though

We had th8s with Grimlick too, though. Most modern takes will be the updated Trex, but anything slavishly G1 is still gonna be the upright tail dragger.

I find it funny, 10 years ago or less, everythibg that even thought of being an updated G1 was lambasted for everything that was different. We wanted the G1 figures, jusy with kor knees and elbows. Now we have figures like Trypticon, like the Headmasters, and they arent different enough.

Because when you add articulation, it improves.

When you just take the old design, and simply change it up a bit without really improving things, then yeah, it's lazy.

Look at Fortress Maximus, what exactly makes the modern version any better than the original version?

How big is he?

I don't care if he walks or not. As long as he scales next to Metroplex.

Yup! Yup yup yup!

After years of getting teeny tiny Tripticons we FINALLY get the real deal. I've always liked Trypticon's look over Metroplex's, so I'm stoked for this release! I just want to see how Takara's take stacks up against Hasbro's and whether it'd be worth it to spring for that one.

I think this completes my Season1 - the movie Classics TF collection too (I include 3rd party products in this). Very happy to see this guy coming.

I will say I'm OK with the upright dino-mode, because he's not so much a robot T-Rex as he is a robot Godzilla. And that's awesome.

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEONK

Okay my inner paleontologist can't take this much longer. Trypticon is not a T-Rex.

That was the second thing noticed. I certainly hope it doesn't walk. It's going to take a lot of space to house a motorizing gimmick. Those are the exact kind of gimmicks I don't like. Transforming robot is enough gimmick for me.

Tryptophan has never been on my radar or want list and that render hasn't changed that. I am still interested to see how this beastie turns out though. I do hope it's tops for those interested ;)^

The rest of that jibberish was my auto correct. I fixed it though.

I wouldn't assume it will walk. It's more likely those stabilizers are just there as an homage to the G1 figure.

They also formed blasters for the G1 battle station mode. I assume they will do the same for this big fella.

Trypticon is not a T-Rex. He is a robot very loosely based on a T-Rex. He does not need to walk like a real life dinosaur to make me happy.

To me it's like complaining dragons shouldn't breath fire because dinosaurs don't.

I hate to be that guy, (unless being right is something to feel bad about), but i sense a heavy use of Photoshop here. Now photo alterations have been used for the transformers toys for the last couple of years now so this isn't new, but I don't want you guys to get your hopes up like certain people did with Fortress Maximus. I will wait for some more photos and videos before I give my actual opinion.
