He actually looks pretty "clean" to me.

He's got flaws, but as mentioned above, the flaws make me like him. If he was perfect in both modes something wouldn't be right with the transformation..or something.....somewhere..!!

You did?

To me, Megatron's transformation must be fun, and not a nightmare. That is the true engineering challenge. This is the prime reason why leader class combiner wars Megatron got my money more than twice. He looks like the G1 megatron I know, and his transformation is quicker than my short fuse. And I can actually see how they can engineer a simple gun megatron from the CW megatron (so please don't tell me it can't be done).

I would say that MP01 Optimus' transformation, while takes abit of time, is really fun. I can't say the same for many gun G1 Megatron (the previous MP megs and Apollyon for eg). This piece looks like another transformative-nightmare however good the figure looks, which is probably the reason why the Youtube vid person did not proceed to transform him.

I wanna see how Megatron is transformed this time. Pun intended.

I did :( TFL asked for payment a few weeks ago (typically I just pre-buy things with them) and I said I wasn't sure if I had the funds. He said he'd hold it for me, I said "nah, give someone else a chance".

REGRETS!!!!!!!!

Darkside MP Megatron? What is this?

MP Megatron doesn't have a darkside, haven't you seen all his happy faces?! :-D

His poseability looks good but he also looks like a kibbly nightmare to transform. Still utterly happy with Despotron. I hope those who get this Megatron as equally as happy.

Or, in other eyes, (like mine), he looks solid and strong, with great poseability and a damned fine transformation. He's a really good quality product who is perfect for Megatron for me. He fits in with Prime nicely. Less of the excessive cartoon accuracy that the line has veered towards in recent offerings.

As with most things, this is all subjective. My opinions may not line up with yours and that's just fine.

I don't think megatron had one of those in the cartoon.

I think he was referring to your liking the "everything" part.

Despotron is just about the perfect G1 Dreamwave Megatron. It's got that blocky look that defined that era of Transformers.

MP-36 obviously draws more from the G1 cartoon, where Megatron was significantly slimmer. I love that lanky, long-legged look, and the MP nails it.

To each his own.

I think I prefer Despy since it resembles the Devastation video game model. This Megatron still looks really good though.

Hey Cyberpath, I've got a challenge for you! ;)

Try recreating this scene when your Megs arrives (you're good with those fig shots of yours) ;)^

Image

Maybe include Rumble carrying the fusion canon

This would be awesome!

P.S. Videolink is dead

Maybe they don't allow remote embedding.. here's the link:

Sure, I can give it a shot. Though all the poses and scenes will probably get done before mine arrives. ;)^

Transformation Video for Takara Tomy MP-36 Megatron

Fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath (and several other fans) found a video showcasing the transformation of MP-36 Masterpiece Megatron. The reviewer is Chinese and decided it would be best to have sentences at the bottom of the video as it plays to music. We don't get the best sense of the reviewer's opinion, aside from some really cool aspects in the transformation and a thumbs up here and there, but this should give you all a good idea of what is involved with this toy. Many were wondering if Takara could do what no one else did so far and do a pleasant transformation that didn't take forever, so now you be the judge to see if that happened. MP Megatron comes out early April, how many of you have preordered him, and how many are still waiting to see if he is worth his high price before making the plunge?

This thing is unbelievable, but it is a total obscenity work of art no, definitely an obscenity, he is literally made of moving parts, and might have become the preemptive and permanent standard to which all ball-aching transformations are measured, I mean, he doesn't look like fun to even think about transforming. But seriously, I am in awe of the level of engineering put into this figure, it is truly masterful

Oh wow that transformation looks like a huge ball ache. However there's a lot of clever engineering going on here that I can appreciate. Very good looking figure and I think he justifies his price tag pretty well. Only real complaint is the crotch

Looks like way too many moving parts to actually be enjoyable. But damn if the engineering doesn't look impressive. Despotron and Mightron actually have relatively good transformations. Complex but still enjoyable. Mightron actually employs a really neat trick where the legs and arms condense in one step from gun to robot.
