You know, Soundwave goes form being Transformer-sized to being a boombox. Maybe G1 Unicron shrinks quite a bit when Transforming and has a much bigger planet-mode. Do we ever see his planet-mode side-by-side with Cybertron in G1?

Not in the cartoon or movie, nope.

Yeah, its all over the place, but a Cybertron/Primus comparable to Haslab Unicron is definitely not that far fetched.

And judging from that pic, Cybertron is egg-shaped. :P

Gauntlet101010 wrote:Masterforce is good. Weird in that it's TF actively trying to not be robots, but I'm entertained. I think it's a worthwhile continuation of G1.

Headmasters, though, is the worst so far. I think it would have been decried if it had been dubbed. There would be no mysterium to shield it from scrutiny.
100% on this. Every once in awhile I go back to Headmasters to see if it really was that bad and yeah, yeah it was. Masterforce is the most cohesive G1 show from start to finish. Victory is light on the overall plot but is masterful in its toy-commercial style character building, especially that little run where every Breastforce member gets a little spotlight episode.

All that's to say I'm gonna throw out a major dark horse guess for today's Haslab - Liokaiser. Hit up your bookie now to get in on that money-losing action!

So Omega Prime for $250. Hmm, I'm solidly on the fence right now, but I'm sure impulse will take over in a few days.

Well, it's not Primus. It is Omega Prime. Honestly, I'm not sure how much nicer it is than the original.

Gonna pass. Never got into RiD. That being said, if they were gonna do Primus, I'd probably have to pass as well due to money being tight atm. But to those RiD fans, I'm happy for them. Hope he turns out good.

Omega Prime, huh?

Hm. Not as impressed by the choice as I should be for a Haslab. Since I'm not collecting all the leaders I may pass on this one. But it's good they're still branching out. I'll still mull it over.

I backed, but I may back out depending on if there are any tier bonuses. I have the original and honestly they don't look that different. The molds for Prime looks pretty much unchanged and it doesn't have the nice touches like the metallic paint on the torso. Magnus has actual feet that may prevent it from falling over like the original mold, but otherwise very little change.

Well that's... disappointing. I had the original Omega Prime/God Fire Convoy and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Not sure how it could be improved upon that much? Maybe this is to try to make up for the Takara reissue that went so bad a few years back?

At any rate, With this being *relatively* inexpensive, it will probably have no problem funding, but also I feel no obligation to back it. While Car Robots/RiD is actually one of my favorite TF series, I'd much rather have a new JRX/Rail Racer or BuildKing/Landfill. Omega Prime isn't something I need.

*edit* Just noticing the Matrix Blade unlockable for tier #1. I'll have to compare when I get home because I have Legends Grand Max, but I wonder if its just a retool of the Master Sword that came with TT Fort Max/Grand Max, or is it a brand new mold?

Below you will find the video revealing the new Haslab project along with a blurb from Hasbro. It's RID Optimus Prime combined with Ultra Magnus to make Omega Prime.

I'd love to back this! But will bills, rent and my $250 car payment I can't do it.

But they look good! All basic prime needs is his pistol!

My only regret about it being Fire Convoy is that I can't afford to buy 3 like I did the original. =P~ Definitely getting this, it looks amazing! Super excited! Now just give us a Brave Maximus already, you're including his sword (almost definitely) as it is so you just have to do a straight Fort Max repaint.

As someone who was not around to get the original, I think is is a purchase for me. I think the similarities to the original are a positive in this case, as the design is fantastic to begin with. And if I were going to get a version of these characters, I might as well go for the one with the improvements and streamlining, as subtle as they may seem. Plus, I reckon the Haslab isn't too much more expensive than trying to acquire the original MINT anyway. This is a great opportunity to acquire an excellent realisation of an awesome design with the rare guarantee that it's fully complete and functional. We're three for three for Transformers Haslabs, I hope we continue the streak!

The whole set looks really impressive, especially the fact that Blue Bolts was turned into a full-blown Weaponizer like Cog, Sixgun, Slammer, and Fasttrack were. That's awesome. And the Matrix Blade being an all-new mold when they could have easily retooled TR Fortress Maximus's Master Sword with a new handle, but didn't, is even better.

Emerje wrote:Super excited! Now just give us a Brave Maximus already, you're including his sword (almost definitely) as it is so you just have to do a straight Fort Max repaint.
I'm still content with the original. The TR Fort Max figure is, from the neck down, really baaaaaaad.

I have the Legends Grand Max version and got the DNA Design upgrade kits for it, and even with those kits giving him much better hands, a good gun, better hip ratchets, and superfluous helipad boots, the base figure itself is still one of the most worst Titan class toys I've ever had.

He can't even hold his sword, even with the upgraded hands, because the sword's handle is too thin to fit securely into the gripping slots of his hands (both the official and upgraded ones). It takes wrapping the fully articulated fingers of the upgraded hands around the sword to keep it from just falling out of his grip, and even then the sword is just barely holding on.

The only good thing about the TR Fort Max is the new head figure, which is a pretty good large Deluxe/small Voyager toy. But it isn't enough to salvage the rest of the set.

Not really enough of an improvement over the original to get my money, but I would certainly consider it if I didn't have one.

I have the original set and will still get this. I love this choice for Haslab and never would've backed a Primus.

I just want the ability to get more Bluebolts. Like have an option as an add-on item. I want at least three due to it being a Weaponizer and I get them all in threes.

I'm actually concerned this may be the first HasLab TF to NOT get funded. The general response is very lukewarm at best.
