Studio Series '86 Jazz

Use THIS for an emergency brake!

Day 17 - Gool ol' Jazz. Here I have him with some upgrades, but I left out his 3p speakers because I've recently seen some other speakers that I think he'll be sporting at some point.

Day 18- I was unable to post today, but just in under the wire is a figure I got way back in January well before we knew for sure about Studio Series Perceptor. I later got a Titans Return Perceptor with a non-transforming head, but that's another story for another day.

I'm starting to have a hard time keeping up, lol. I guess that means I hadn't bought as many TFs as I thought this year, which is good news for my shelves and wallet.

Nonetheless, I'll make a pick for today and it's cheating a bit. I'll go with SS86 Jazz as well, but based only on looks, as he's still sealed in his box for now, until I make shelf space for him.

All The Kingdom Beast Wars figures(Sans Rhinox and Waspy as I am using T30 ones). Beast Wars has always been my favorite and begging hasbro to show beast wars some love and hearing nothing always upset me. Wave after Wave of nothing but G1 stuff to finally get my wish with Kingdom made me so happy.

I didn't buy him as such, as I won him in a Facebook Group raffle, though I had to buy the tickets so in a way I bought him, it's not like I was hunting for him, as given how hard he normally is to obtain he was way down on the wish list, but hey, I got a near complete G1 Star Sabre and frankly, that tops anything I got this year (which in all honesty I can't remember anyway)

Titans Return Trypticon and Siege Brunt

IMG_8218.jpg

Day 19 - Back in the halycon days of yore known as 2019, when I bought into WFC Trilogy: Siege, I had a pretty well thought out buying strategy. I bought the G1 cast members along with some favorites. I opted out of Weaponizers because of one reason: I didn't want to be tempted to buy Titan Class figures. I wasn't even getting Omega Supreme, but things had evolved by the time he was available on BBTS.

I have a friend from another state who collects things in excess. He got this Trypticon for 50 bucks from Ollies, and us being old friends, he sold one to me for the same 50 bucks - an offer I just couldn't refuse. He also sold me the Brunt to go with so I had it all in NEO G1 form.

Needless to say, this ain't the last Titan to enter this list.

Kingdom Rattrap and Optimus Primal are by far the best ones i've bought in years. Had to import them since a lot of Kingdom figure were heavily delayed.

Reminds me I still need too open my Ratrap, still sitting in its bubble.

Still, while Primal is really good, I can honestly say there are much better figures this year than him. Just goes to show what a great year we had where even the ones that aren't at the top of the list are still really good.

Open that Rattrap. You won't regret it.

Just to point out, though: This is the FAVORITE Transformers purchased in 2021 thread. Not the 'best' or 'technically superior', just what you enjoyed for whatever reason. If you got some Cyberverse guys and you love them, then post em. Cause you love em.

Kingdom Red Alert

IMG_8232.jpg

Day 20 - It was always coming, but the latest restock at Pulse put me in a Red Alert mood. Like his mold brother, he's checking the Earth Mode box I require from all the Siege OG cast guys. I'm still holding out hope for a Hound, even though many seem content with the Siege one not being given a post Cybertron alt-mode.

Anyway, I'm sure at some point there'll be a deluge of Reds showing up somewhere, but for now he's a hard one to get. Good luck to everyone who needs him.

I'm sure we'll get an Earth mode Hound eventually, but I think the Siege version is very close as it is.

My pick today follows in my Marvel Ratchet's footsteps, and it is my custom Marvel Megatron. I always preferred Megatron with a dark helmet instead of a gray one. Just looks better.

Studio Series Bumblebee movie Soundwave!
Just got him yesterday and he's already one of my favorites for the year. The bot mode is absolutely fantastic. Alt mode is unique. Can't wait to pair him up with Ravage.

He does indeed look like an awesome figure, man. I just don't purchase many movieverse figures. I did pre-order the Brawn, though. I love Brawn.

Kingdom Inferno and Generations Selects Artfire and Nightstick

IMG_8234.jpg

Day 21 - I couldn't decide which of the engines I liked better so I just went with the mold. Last year's Grapple got a lot of grief for a flaw and being a general boring shelfwarmer, but I liked him and saw him as a great preview for the auto-release of Inferno. What I didn't know would be that they would also release Artfire. I was so very close to getting the Masterpiece of him after I got Masterpiece Inferno, but Inferno was expensive enough I just went with him. Now, in Generations I don't have to make that choice and I'm pretty happy with them both.

I have Inferno but i have yet to open him. I'm sure when I do, I'm going to really like him

Earthrise Titan Class Scorponok

IMG_8225.jpg

Day 22 - Another Titan from the year of reissues, and the year of me spending godawful amounts of money. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with him. I'm still pondering the upgrade kits.

Rodimus Prime wrote:We. Need. Hauler. Right. Now.

Yeah, he's kind of a lay down isn't he?

He's literally a green Grapple. No retool required. Just change all the orange paint to green paint and boom! Another $30 each.

Kingdom Galvatron and Cyclonus

IMG_8261.jpg

Day 23 - "Magnus! I want the Matrix."

Love these guys. Overall Cyclonus is excellent, even if I'm not entirely happy with his face. Galvatron has the blue stuff on him, but I don't dislike it enough to bother removing it. I guess I'm spoiled by all the partially articulated hands that I wish they were showing up on more figures. You can tilt Galvatron's head just enough to mimic the scene I reference from Transformers: The Movie, so I'm good with that.

Kingdom Battle Across Time Sideswipe

IMG_8231 (1).jpg

Day 24 - I'm far enough into this that it's starting to get somewhat difficult to pick actual favorites, but I've still keeping them coming. I've also got a couple things coming. I should probably not do so many groups, but some favorites are associated with a group rather than just by themselves.

Anyway, Earth Mode Sideswipe fulfills the hopefully eventual promise of all the Siege characters getting Earth Modes and I'm here for it. I have left him stock so far, but I found an upgrade kit that channels MP-12 and I think he'll be suiting up with that one at some point (in 2022).

Buzzworthy Bumblebee Origin Bumblebee

IMG_8265.jpg

Day 25 - It took two years, but we finally got a WFC Siege Bumblebee in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line. This line certainly can produce some winners here and there, and I love the idea of stuff that wouldn't fit in main line releases getting the possibility release here. As a figure, he's really cool to play with and the joints on my copy are super-tight, which is good for stop motion stuff.

I know I've said it before, even in this thread, but for me Origins Bumblebee is the most exciting mainline figure in the history of the line, and I don't know how anything will ever top it.

I did really love that toy, it has so much going on and nails every bit of it. It is a wonderful little thing.

A couple to add to the thread, as this pair aren't exactly the highest quality toys, but are representative of some great fiction and a true attachment for me to each of their characters

Also, who would have thought that I would fall in love with and enjoy a transforming computer so much?

Generations Selects Galvatron II

IMG_8262.jpg

Day 26 - As AllNewSuperRobot's tagline goes "AND IT IS GALVATRON!!" While I didn't read the UK stuff until much later, I got enough of this version of Galvatron during the last end of the US run of Transformers. I love the toy deco as much as the cartoon deco - it's really hard to choose one, so I chose both.

Hey, whatever is your favorite for whatever reason, is the whole point. I don't care about what's the 'best' or whatever...that's an entirely different calculation. But that emotional response is what gets me up in the morning.

Late to the party, but I also don't have a ton of figures to share, so I guess it works out.

Kingdom Rattrap

Rattrap is such a fun little figure. I didn't expect to like him as much as I did, but he's one of my favorites from 2021 for sure.
