Yup, that's true! Since 2012 or 2013 something, :TAKARATOMY: was famous for improving the designs (if neccessary) & most obviously, the paint apps, on all Hasbro's Transformers toys, but are sold even more expensive compared to :HASBRO: 's due to the amount of improvements made & paint used. In my opinion, :HASBRO: 's Transformers toys are for children while :TAKARATOMY: 's Transformers toys are for adult collectors & display only. I think this only applies for current ones only. For those since 1984 until 2011, both :HASBRO: 's & :TAKARATOMY: 's Transformers toys look almost the same (high quality plastic which makes great durability, awesome package & toy designs, highly detailed paint apps, much larger size & a motherload of innovative features & gimmicks! Don't u think? :-?

Not necessarily.
First off, Takara's toys cost more because they're imports - if you lived in Japan, paying for say Alpha Bravo or G2 Bruticus would be the equivalent of us importing a Takara toy.

Secondly... it's kind of mix and match. These days it seems to be less and less that Takara's paint apps are superior and more that they offer something different. Sometimes they are still indeed categorically better in every way - Titans Return Scourge and Blurr, for instance - but other times like with Titans Return Chromedome, Astrotrain, Combiner Wars Bruticus etc. they just offer a different take on the character - such as show-accuracy vs toy accuracy. I personally prefer the Hasbro decos of all three aforementioned toys, but other collectors (especially those predisposed towards the original G1 cartoon) would find much more value in the Takara decoes.

Yup, you're right. I have to admit. ;)^ BTW, I live in Malaysia.

100% certain its not a triple changer since those are not dragon feet. They are simply his feet that have a very organic design for this film, as previously revealed:

Agreed ;)^ Its definitely the toy I am looking most forward to. I love how different Megatron has been from movie to movie and all his different forms throughout different media. Optimus is usually a truck and usually has his robot bits in similar areas. But they always reinvent Megs and he looks freaken awesome here! The feet visible in jet mode would be a price to pay but the colours are uniform enough that it might not detract too much.

I do like how the other TLK stuff looks actually. I might get a few others, like the Barricade and new Optimus even as well. Sqweeks is kind of growing on me a little bit too.

Dang, I was hoping not to have to get any TLK toys. That Voyager Optimus may be an exception.

No I dont think thats right, and in fact I know its wrong. I can see why a non japanese perspective would come to this conclusion but there are a lot of falicies here which I thought we were over.

Firstly, Takara's main audience is kids. It always was and they keep saying it everytime, I dont know why fans just ignore them. You can read all their quotes on how its kids they serve for all their toys (minus MPs): viewtopic.php?f=4&t=106692&p=1778139&hilit=children+takara+arcee#p1778139

Secondly, and this is really important, the general price point for takara products is NOT higher. It only costs more to people outside japan because takara is not allowed to sell directly outside Japan, so any takara item sold in the US or elsehwere must be imported. So that means paying a higher fee.
it has NOTHING to do with better paint apps since the prices in the respective markets are the same. That means that hasbro is charging you the same amount takara charges japanese people and yet hasbro gives you less paint. This is what people should be angry over, not Takara charging more (because they dont).

reversely, hasbro isnt allowed to sell directly in japan, so hasbro products must be imported. So check below to see how much a Japanese person has to pay for Sky Shadow ($100), Broadside ($50) and Kup ($30)

Image

Notice how that is exactly the same price takara items cost here?

So now you tell me, if you are in japan and you see these real prices, what would you think? Would you think its because Hasbro has better paint apps than your takara toys?

You can read more about how prices are actually the same here: takara-tomy-transformers-legends-thread-p1740815.php#p1740815

That Optimus on the far right is the AOE Leader, you can see the backpack. I also zoomed in with photoshop and there's a deluxe/voyager Drift and you can see a few letters of that dragon's name.

So Megatron is going back to his original alt mode just with a few changes. Can't really complaine, I liked the first movie Cybertronian jet mode plus I will say I like the new dark Knight look he has.

It wouldn't happen to be "Trypticon", would it?

It looks either to be Boneyard or Monstructor or something like that.

And thats a deluxe drift, it just looks bigger because its in a box. Oh and this has me thinking of something I wanted to say.
You guys notice how ALL non simplified toys are in Premier Edition boxes? Its the entire line, not just the early ones. And that makes sense since there was nothing premium about them anyway. Its just the name to distinguish them from the other sublines, as was alluded to previously.

But that also means that it will indeed be 30$ for voyagers at Target, at least until there is a price revision (which can happen).

Oh, great, I thought the entire back of the truck would be stuck on the back of the robot mode, but this is definitely smoother...
