That does seem unlikely since there was no mention of SS in the post, but there's always a chance of surprises.

Really curious about that mention of a new partnership with a new "product" and "artwork" which is all pretty vague. Could be literally anything from an art book, to a video game remake to the next crossover figure.

Actually, a remake of the FOC game would make sense since there was that rumor of the FOC game figures coming to SS and explain the need to mention new artwork. :-?

Emerje

When you say remake you mean both games, right? Be weird if they just chose to remake the second game. Though the worst case scenario is Transformers NFTs in the same vein as the power rangers one they did. Despite the market going south, some companies (*cough*Square Enix*cough*) are still pressing forward.

I think the rumor was actually about the WFC game and I'm just tired...

Emerje

Makes more sense  ;)^

Wouldn't complain at some new tf games.

The new evolution subline

A partnership of something or other

I don't use much social media or wherever they posted, and I am thoroughly confused.

The case boxes and Walmart tabs already says "Legacy EV".

Well this guy just arrived:

Box

First impressions:

Quite heavy.

Not very tall.

Getting everything tabbed in, in the different modes is quite a chore.

Jet mode is…. Not as terrible as I feared, but also not really good. I have a feeling some hinges or swivels got budgeted out, because the faux fins for robot mode, seem like they are almost meant to end up under the real ones in jet mode to mimic the G1 toy and cartoon model.

Tank mode is pretty good.

Bendy sword is a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker.

Don’t know what I’m going to do with the big bulbous energon hands.

Otherwise… he’s o.k. I think for Leader budget its a bit lacking.

They did seem like they were teasing a Magic: The Gathering collab of some kind in the last TF stream they did, so it may be that?

They did a MLP collab before so a TF collab is more than likely.
But if you won't buy the thing anyway, why should you care?

I can't see it being a magic the gathering collab just yet has Wizards announced a lot of magic the gathering products recently including a Doctor Who crossover set of Commander decks (matching the warhammer 40k ones due out in October).

By the by, its up to Hasbro to decide if these things exist or not, we just chose to buy them or not (and I would).

Still, we'll have an answer sooner rather then later.

And it's not like there hasn't already been a Transformers/Magic: The Gathering collaboration before. Magic previously made a Grimlock card back in 2017:

I found Legacy Soundwave at my local Target this morning. There were 2 on the shelf.
I don’t plan on ever opening my NF version; it all looks pretty awesome in the packaging.
Plus, I’m not going to be completely surprised if we get a SS86 version.
Even though I almost think SS86 Rumble is an attempt to help the re-packed Seige Soundwave mold not seem quite as bad…
I remember Buzzworthy Kup, Cliffjumper, & even SS86 Ironhide.
On top of the fact that Soundwave is a top-tier character.
Doesn’t seem likely that all of the cassettes would get individual Core class releases—
SS86 Soundwave could be Leader class but packing him with Frenzy & Buzzsaw, while Ravage and Laserbeak are packed individually in later Core waves.

We'll have to wait and see with Soundwave, while we did get a reuse of the vw bee mold, that was in a completely different deco then what we had in the NF line. We have SG Soundwave coming up but that might just mean that the NF Soundwave deco is still locked away.

Basically don't expect ss86 SW but you can be pleasantly surprised if he does happen.

I definitely don’t expect it.
And wow, I knew I rushed that last post, but it was really poorly worded…

I don’t expect a SS86 Soundwave… But like I said, those figures I mentioned were pretty surprising. A lot of that surprise being contributed to the timing of their releases relative to their original releases.
And between the most G1 (non-MP) version of this character that’s ever been made was a relatively hard-to-get exclusive, the sheer popularity of this character, & his substantial role in the first part of the movie (who else was going to carry Megatron back to Astrotrain?)… It won’t exactly be shocking if a SS86 version happens.

Along with my idea of how to release almost all of the main cassettes— although I take back Frenzy & Buzzsaw being packed-in’s: give me Ratbat instead of Buzzsaw)— Soundwave would make a great Leader class release for SS86… Maybe not as exciting as getting SS86 Swoop. But other than Swoop rounding-out the 5 Dinobots, I’m sure there will be plenty of people that would be more excited about a new/mainly retooled Soundwave. After Snarl & Swoop, it would be nice and make sense to get a solid Decepticon release.
I personally would hope they can make his legs longer and get his proportions better, similar to Blaster.
And please, Hastak… Keep it going with the forearm panels!
No figure should have huge hollow gaps in their forearms!

But I get it… Who knows… Watch, we’ll get SS86 Core releases for Frenzy, Ratbat, & Lazerbeak.
But never a SS86 Soundwave for them.

Based on what? Your personal opinion? pffffffft. Just because YOU don't approve of it doesn't mean others won't. So save your money for the few bits and bobs you do like.

Unless the one person I know who is into MTG is incorrect, MTG TF (and Dr Who) has already been anounced but I guess second official announcemnets are classed as first anouncements to Hasbro anyhoos with their sequencing issues. Would be interesting to see some MTG vehicles/creatures done as Tranfsormers though.

I've seen pictures of some of the MTG Transformers cards.

So, Legacy Motormaster. Pretty cool, but they definitely should have used CW pegs for the Menasor shoulder connections - even if they had to make clip-on sockets for them (speaking of, would the 3P clowns please make these already instead of pointless garbage crap like unnecessary thigh extensions?). Because CW pegs actually have room for a strong spring for the rotation ratchet. The rotation ratchets on the Menasor shoulders as executed... do not feel like their springs are entirely up to the task. Attaching Drag Strip to the arm introduces a lot of play to the rotation, which is worrisome. I would not recommend leaving an unmodified Menasor combined, especially not with the arms doing anything besides resting at his sides.
I would like to know who thought that using a weaker rotation joint than CW pegs have, for arms inherently heavier than those of CW combiners, was a good idea.

Also, the trailer wheels needed longer pegs on their backplates. The tiny little nub does nothing to lock them in, so they're quite prone to splaying under the weight.

Having done some digging, all I'm coming up with for Transformers mtg is the aforementioned grimlock (which was a hascon exclusive) and an Optimus Prime card that was given to the folk who made the short lived Transformers tcg (the Optimus promo was double sided with one being a normal mtg card frame and the other a Transformers tcg card frame). I've found zip on any official announcement of their being a product like the lord of the rings crossover, the 40k crossover etc etc.

There has been zero official announcement, but in the stream that revealed SS Wave 4 and went over Legacy Wave 3 there were a bunch of seemingly random camera effects/flashes of color, Ben from the TF team changed into a shirt featuring the Simic Combine logo in the last 7 minutes or so of the stream, and when asked about the shirt Ben mentioned the color flashes and that he has a background with MTG and said he was "working on something with them, so more to come maybe". That seems like a pretty overt hint to me.

Thigh extensions are necessary for Menasor. He has stubby thighs that limit poseability. Having longer thighs gives him more height and better poses.

But he also should have had the CW connector ports on his shoulders. Or at least had them as an option where the arms he has now can be folded to his back or disconnected altogether like the lower legs.

I've said it repeatedly before, with CW Menasor only Motormaster was the problem.
