Hmm, not sure how I feel about this. Early movie toys are often EXTREMELY inaccurate compared to the film characters they're based on, so the film being released later and having a significant chance of changing how they look makes me want to skip these entirely. On the other hand, there's always the chance they're just really, really good toys (I love my helicopter Dropkick, and he barely resembles the character in the Bumblebee movie), so it may not matter how accurate they are to the films.

I guess I'll wait until we see the toys before I make a decision. The only things I'm looking forward to this year was the handful of Beast Wars characters that are allegedly going to release in the current Generations line, so it's not like I won't have the funds free (although GI Joe Classified series has been eating into my pockets a lot this past year, haha).

You were still going to get them even though they are gimmick toys like the BB movie line?

I doubt I'd get the gimmicky subline stuff, but there could very well be more traditional style toys and Studio Series stuff for the movie releasing at the same time, just like they did with Bumblebee. That was what I was specifically referring to.

There are 0 RotB Studio Series figures coming out this year, according the years-worth of mainline SS listings were found in the big Target leak with Legacy.

We've known for months now that there were going to be 0 studio series toys coinciding with ROTB in 2023. Just the movie's own subline. Hence my question.

Pun incidental, but these Bayverse movie beast figures will have to come roaring out of the gate if they want me to have any interest at all....

Very interesting article. While Hasbro will be shipping the toys it'll be interesting to see if retailers order them. I've seen first hand that SOME, not all of the Black Widow and Shang Chi toys sat for months before being clearanced out well before the movie hit. The worst part, especially in the case of Shang Chi was that those figures were never restocked, even if there was demand. The Role Play toys seemed to do well regardless. My gut tells me that Hasbro wants the line out to be the "Kid-friendly" line for 2022 since Cyberverse is over. I'm down for these since the kid stuff is my bread and butter.

Yes, I think that is both Hasbro and the retailer's plans. They need toys aimed at kids on shelves in 2022. Thankfully, unlike with Shang-Shi and Black Widow, Transformers sell fine without the need for direct accompanying media since they are a toy brand first and have legacy knowledge (from previous toys/media).

And for the characters that would be new to kids/parents, technically, it will be no different than when they were selling non show characters in Beast Wars in the 90s.

We may be surprised. :-?

Okay news I guess, I was dissapointed by the Bumblebee toys released with the film. Did get them but sold them right away when Studio Series came along and I'm not a fan of Studio Series.

I hope we can get away from Bay as soon as possible with the Live action stuff. The lovers had 5 movies and 5 big fat toylines + extending Studio Series toys, these guys had their stuff. Now I want a completely different more G1 aimed Live Action Transformers movie series please.

Just grab the War for Cybertron Games, Unicron Trilogy and Beast wars and be inspired by that with a complely new non-Bionicle 3 milion body parts design. Look at Bumblebee and Pacific Rim.

It's time.

Man, I don't know if I am the only one but I check facebook every couple of hours to see if anyone in the various TF groups I am part of has posted images of the upcoming ROTB toys. Unlike many others, I do not think these will get the fan friday treatment. The BB toys were announced with no buzz since they were not targetting collectors, same as these. And with them just being 2 months away (as far as we know), they must be out there somewhere, not on the factory floor but in packaging and with stock photos available for retail sites. It feels like there is a bunch of stuff out there just waiting to burst out. And in this case it ends up being our first look at any character. So it's very exciting even though the toys themselves are not for me.

I agree, especially since Hasbro doesn't even have anything to promote this year and any kind of big fanfare will just highlight how disappointing the delay is. This will get the Cyberverse treatment, our first look will be from a store showing them off and it feels like Hasbro is trying to wait as long as possible before that happens. Like Cyberverse there's still a Deluxe offering that will appeal more to collectors, but didn't get a big reveal from Hasbro. Maybe they were planning to display them at Toy Fair, but with that not happening probably wont be anything.

They truly are about to bungle everything around this movie, and it's going to be a real bummer when they do

I can't wait to get my hands on them. I'm really curious about how they'll turn out, and the views, those sweet, sweet views.

One of the things I'm looking foward to,is knowing if the beast characters are going to have realistic animal skin or if they are going to have an metalic exterior like the Dinobots.

I don't think they are that level yet. When the movie comes out they can restock the toys or repackage them, maybe even do something in the same style of the Buzzworthy line, with some minor paint updates.

Day 763 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

I wonder if people will hold off buying figures from Rise of Beasts thinking that the figures would be re-released when the movie is released.

Few to none of these figures are made for us so I don't think it matters.

I think most fans will do the same they did with Bumblebee, just get the Studio Series versions when they come out.

Well, unless some of us think the "kid's stuff" is rather awesome and buy it anyway.

Like that huge lights and sounds Bee, Power Charge Bumblebee for me.

It's seriously cool and goes well with my others big lights and sounds Bees.

That's part of my point. Those who would buy these toys would buy them regardless, so it doesn't matter. While I did nean parents and kids, that totally extends to any fan of these types of toys.

Hasbro wrote me a letter and told me these figures are being made exclusively for me.

Wasn't/isn't Gamefly a video game rental service? Not sure how I feel about pre-ordering figures without seeing them first.

Yeah, not sure what’s up with them having these. Either way, it seems like we should be getting some looks at the ROTB toys sometime soon.
