I dont need another Optimus Prime
I dont need another Optimus Prime
I dont need a DANGIT

That is an oddly large opening between the trailer wheels. Probably a cost saving measure, but I would love ro see a Roller that goes in there.

Grapple is a must have

I love that Ironworks matches Omega Supreme. Lioks lime he has both the TR And Supreme track adapters? Whats the head? He sorta looks familiar?

And the crane piece would be a fantastic piece for a Hoist. Just saying.

Prime's shield is part of the ramp on the trailer.

Does Ironworks base mode still have the attack mode?

The Hot-Rod patrol looks to be reshells of the sports car patrol member with bad arms.

I'll skip any character who gets a 'rework' into an Earth mode (for consistency and wallet's sake) but Ironworks and Grapple are definitely on the list for me. Especially Ironworks, who while he looks great I fully expect to warm shelves like crazy so he shouldn't be too hard to get...

I'll be honest, as much as I'm glad for those of you that wanted this new Prime, I just can't get behind what they're doing here. It's basically them taking the MPs and downscaling them and simplifying them to fit a retail pricepoint. Grapple's a maybe, I like everything except the body, mostly because it's too G1-y to me (not that that's bad, just not my taste. I prefer a bit more dynamic designs compared to blocks). Ironworks is a buy though because he looks cool and the second I saw him I instantly thought about using Omega and Ironworks, in addition to any similar designs, as an industrial city where the micromasters live and work, separate to the ongoing Autobot and Decepticon war

It may just be the digital renders, but looks almost like more cell shading on Optimus & Grapple... Nothing in this really speaks to me except Ironworks. Always up for more bases, connectivity & Weaponizers. I'll quietly await the rest. Hopefully a sneak peak at the next Titan.

Glad i skipped siege prime, this looks way better, grapple is a must, especially since i have no version of the character and ironworks lools very cool! Im looking forward to seeing a new wheeljack. The best one i have right now is the prime rid one and that's a bit outdayed at the moment.

Earth... Already? Sigh

So much for all the goodwill and potential Siege garnered. Hopefully Part Three of the trilogy will be something interesting again that isn't the same old tired designs spat out again...

What's not to get behind? Is it the complexity of the transformation, or the redundancy of the figures?

With the notable and understandable exception of Springer, I've liked all of Siege's transformations and robot modes. The Autobot alt-modes are great. I made a decision a few years ago to stop collecting Masterpieces for a bunch of reasons, but the main one was price, and this is exactly what I've been looking for.

Nope. Just more GEEWUN forever and ever because Warden is allergic to anything not GEEWUN and because we still buy it anyway.

It's the fact that there's basically no innovation in terms of design. I just don't like the lack of new designs because part of what was fun about T30 and some of PW was the new designs that still had elements from the classic designs

First an "armor up" Ultra Magnus from Siege, and now a Prime with a proper trailer from the new line. I'm liking WFC more and more. I skipped Siege Prime and SS Bumblebee Prime because I couldn't get past their arm kibble. This Prime looks like they fixed it and I'll pick him up, though I'm still disappointed they didn't fix his back flap.

As for Ironworks, I'm wondering if this will be a new trend: instead of vehicle it animal alt modes, industrial or building like transformers to fill out cities of the City Bots (Titans) to make bigger playsets. I would be all for it

Question: Is this thread going to be combined with the previous one we had before we knew the lines official name?

Anyway, it does seem kind of a downer, but expected. Still as Siege showed us, they will give us a few offerings outside of the 84-86 core group. The 2021 line will no doubt offer more from futuristic shows/lines like Victory.

There's only been a handful of reveals, while they don't exactly excite me, I'm sure Thursday morning there will be much more, plus the last wave reveals of Siege show that there is a lot of potential for this line (Snapdragon, the rest of the Autobot Targetmasters etc...)

We got plenty of that before, with Classics, Universe 2008, and Generations up until Thrilling 30. "Innovation" in design of older characters. Classic/iconic features mixed with modern alt-modes and reinterpreted or stylized elements. It's only now that we're getting G1 done the way that many, many fans have been craving: a real update of the original G1 toys and cartoon character models with modern toy technology, creating figures that really capture the looks of the toys and cartoons that started the whole franchise. Yes, we had Masterpiece before, but this is a retail line that can put out more characters faster and costs the consumer significantly less money. Sabr said it earlier (possibly in another thread), but what many fans feel is that THIS is the way Classics should have been back in 2006. It's not more of the same to us, it's been a long time coming!

Don't know how I feel about Prime. I like Siege Prime, so I'll just see what other people say when they get him in-hand. Ironworks is an awesome idea and an instant buy for me. Grapple, on the other hand, never really clicked with me. I thought he was an okay character and never owned any of his figures, so I might not get him. That or I'll do a not-well-thought-out impulse buy if I see him.

Earth is, in terms of creativity, the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Transformers. By the context of the setting alone, I won't have any part in Earthrise. If I wanted to look at outdated planes, trucks and cars, Well, that is what MPs and Reissues are for... >:oP

I feel like the third part of the trilogy may have what you want, though we'll have to wait till this time next year to see if it pans out.

Actually the opposite, this thread was already split from the fan vote thread at its beginning. Give it a day or 2 before others realize that thread is specifically for the fan vote now and the next line thread is right here.

I think so too. The Tetrajets and Shockwave were such a huge step in the right direction. Alogside those, Jetfire and Omega Supreme being literally all you could ask for in a modern update of a classic figure. Meanwhile, Earthrise gives you 1984 Optimus Prime, 1985 Grapple and 1989 Micromasters (albeit upscaled, a bit). Figures that exist already, in multiple lines.

Would be cool if the third part gave us "Tales of the unknown" themed stuff, such as "remember in beast wars we talked about rugby base? Well these are based off that" and "remember Velocitron? Think fast because here you go" and "remember kiss players? Well that's good and buried. But here is stuff based off Alternity" or even, "remember that one time that one background character that only appeared in one panel of that obscure comic mentioned that one planet that has never been mentioned again? Here is a whole wave for it." I'd like things we've never seen before, and maybe the Titan can be Majin Zarak and another Titan could be a Pirate ship whose base mode is a desert island... Someday

There are so many gaps in the lore of just about every series they could mine for something really good. That Transtech stuff HasTak never did anything official with. Likewise Machine Wars. The Megatron/Skywarp Triple Changer concept art? Do something with that!
