Is there a chance a MP BW Megatron may not happen because that character was so big??
Star Saber was Combiner-sized and they were able to do him. They could make Megs a little shorter than Ultra Magnus if they wished.

Obv the could make him smaller. I just wonder if they would want to.
While I'm sure MP doesn't completely stick to a standard scale, if Megatron was only a bit bigger than Primal, I think that could be very underwhelming.
Especially for a MP.
You do know that MP Ultra Magnus is a BIG figure, right? BW Megs being around that size would put him on a much bigger size than Optimus Primal.

Preorders for MP-34 Cheetor have popped up, both from importers and Japanese vendors, and with those we finally have official images of the product. The price point is much lower than MP Optimus Primal's and closer to that of the MP cars with a range of $46-$76, depending the retailer.

Here are all the new official stock images, and the multiple angles give us our best look at the figure yet. Is the leg kibble fine for you? Let us know!

Huh...never noticed before his beast head in bot mode was fake. Sorry haven't kept up on this and couldn't tell with the grey prototypes.

Looks nice. It's Cheetor, he literally has dozens of figures so it doesn't wow me but it's nice.

The Cheetah legs hanging off the back of the bot mode look unpleasant, like some sort of unfinished fur coat. Think I would rather they unpegged.

S-O-L-D. Man. Cheetor was always one of my favorites. Seriously, this looks fantastic.

Did you feel the same when they were like that in the show?

No, I know its show accurate. I just think it would look sleeker without.

Whats not show accurate though are his legs in beast mode. I am having a really hard time with those robot feet hanging off there. I get that its for a better look in robot mode, but even then the animation model did have the beast feet as heels, so its not show accurate either.

I am happy with the rest (especially with the price) but that back area really bugs me. Super curious to see where that cheetah face ends up.

The rear leg kibble is not as bad in these new photos, but it really is disappointing and unnecessary. A bit more rear leg thought would have made this a real Masterpiece, not even the fake cat chest in robot mode bothers me. The rear cat legs are however stopping me from picking this up.

Everyone keeps saying that the head in alt mode is fake but I don't see where the original head goes.

This seems to suffer from the same design flaws as MP Optimus Primal; namely robot kibble hanging off the back/hindlegs/feet of the beast mode legs/feet.

I wish TT would cease with gimmicks on these (different animal faces) and just make a figure that transformed from one authentic mode to the next. Maybe the gimmicks were included to make us forget about the flaws?

As it is, these two MP BW figs seem to be slightly more detailed, yet overpriced deluxe CHUGS, madeto compliment deluxe Rattrap and Rhinox (Dinobotand CHUG Cheetor does not count).

I know the original toy had that, but it looks to me like the show model had the same kind of heels as this MP had:

Where else could they go? Cheetor's hindlegs were really thin in the show and just magically morphed into his thicker robot legs.

Besides, the original toy did that too.

Then why bother getting a new, more expensive toy with the same flaws?

Masterpiece MUST be a better toy. It's primary design aim is almost perfect representation of both modes, either to the toy or animation model.

I don't believe that they couldn't have given him covers for the feet, it found a way to unfold the feet into covers for the lower legs, creating "kneepads", for example.

If third parties can pull such designs off, then so can Takara.

Are you saying that this MP isn't a better toy than the original? It certainly looks a lot more like Cheetor than the original toy did, and has way more articulation points and paint apps than the original, and certainly attempts to hide the robot leg kibble better than the original toy's solid blue hindlegs' complete lack of even trying to hide it.

A third party pulled off an MP cheetor that looks better than this?

Yeah, I don't recall third parties making a Masterpiece anything that isn't G1. There's a lot of Notfernos and Notstreakers but I don't recall any Noteetors.

The robot kibble in beast mode is a shame, but a necessary one. It wouldn't make me not get him.

...I'm not getting him anyway, but that's just because of money.

What you folks should be keeping in mind is that a BW Masterpiece is fundamentally a different beast (pun intended) from your average Masterpiece toy. The biggest problem is that a beast mode has no hidden sides; an MP carformer can stuff whatever the hell it needs to on the underside of the vehicle - that's about a third of the altmode's surface area! In terms of surface area, the designers have concealed more of the robot on Primal and Cheetor than they did on the G1 guys.

Honestly, it's amazing that there's only this meager amount of kibble on toys trying to ape (pun intended, again) the physically impossible Beast Wars show models.

Cheetor still looks amazing. My only nitpicks would be the panels and the leg kibble but what are you going to do. The engineering on this guy is still insane for a figure that will likely be only a couple inches taller than a deluxe. And with the price, he'll be preordered as soon as possible. It will probably be my first Masterpiece figure.

Honestly, the legs don't bother me at all. I can appreciate all the hard work they've put into this plus the way I display figures, I probably won't be able to see his hind legs anyway!
