Looks like Victory Saber is taller than Deathsaurus now, does that solve some of the scale complaints?

Emerje

Liokaiser redux? I'd back that in a heartbeat.

I mean I'd prefer it to be six retail deluxe/voyager figures but that's a tall order.

By the way, a few weeks ago someone posted a chart showing the funding over time for Deathsaurus compared to Victory Saber and Unicron. Does anyone have an updated version of that? I feel like we're ahead of the curve compared to the others as VS didn't cross the minimum backers line until the last week.... but they're also adding international orders throughout the campaign instead of all at once.

Well, looks like I'll cancel my order.
Victory Saber will be enough in my collection. I have no money, and no room for Deathy. Especially because, like for Victory Saber, I'll want to hunt down the G1 original and that ain't happening.

:(

Maybe the next project will be Overlord.

They also hinted at the next HasLab being something to celebrate the Transformers brand's 40th anniversary, so it'd have to be something extra super special (also not an Optimus, not Gun Megatron, and not a Victory character).

Dark Nova-to-Star Giant or a Majin Zarak would be amazing, but I don't see either of those being 40th anniversary-worthy.

God Ginrai would be appropriate, but he could be considered too close to an Optimus, and he might feel a little too soon after the Legends figure. Same for Dai Atlas having likewise gotten a good Legends figure.

I still want Primus from the Kingdom Rodimus Prime mold, but I'm sure a straight redeco as a HasLab figure would feel like a ripoff to a lot of people.

A character that have never, ever being done before could be a nice HasLab. Something iconic, of course.
But WHO would be worthy of such an honor and would it sell? :-?

A proper Last Autobot would be interesting, but we did just get that Ark with a head inspired by him.

Is there anyone else from either the Marvel comics or the Sunbow cartoon who never got a toy, and was reasonably big enough to require a HasLab release?

Well, there is Cybertron itself. Make it exactly as it appears in the G1 cartoon, huge hole with lighting features and all.

Then, make it transformable with a unique, never before seen robot mode that will be featured in the fiction of the current Generations line.

Majin Zarak would be amazing.

Also a "Primus", whose alt mode was heavily inspired by the Sunbow interpretation of Planet Cybertron (and was as big as Haslab Unicron) would be great as well.

Its just that... Unicron cost $575.00 back in 2019, and required 8K backers (and needed extended time to meet the goal).

Another part of the success of VS and DS are the lower price points I'm sure. Cybertron/Primus in 2023 for a late 2024/early 2025 delivery would probably have a 12K backer requirement and cost $650-$700 because of increased cost of materials and labor. I'd sure be interested, but I just dont think it would fund.

Also, while Transformers is mostly about figures. a 40th anniversary celebration could also be something like an Autobot Matrix statue (I know they've been done), or some other sort of novelty. I certainly hope not , but where Reva's lightsaber failed miserably, the Ghostbusters backpack was very successful.

Maybe a massive box set re-release of every 1984 Autobot? Who knows.

I could also think of Spanner the first space bridge, but he might be too obscure. Maybe making him a multi-form for different space bridge designs would raise the appeal?

I'd also love a Solomus that could turn into a human-scaled Matrix. Or heck, just the Matrix with lights, sounds and the neck chain.

Love those classic starry night backgrounds.

It's a long shot, but maybe something from post-G1. The Unicron Trilogy, the movies (specifically something that Studio Series would never do), Animated (Omega Supreme would be wonderful, but we already got both Siege Omega and Kingdom Ark), or Prime.

Rescue Bots High Tide would be fantastic, but I don't see that happening.

Someone provides Haslab charts for the Youtube channel Geek Dad Life (Sundays at 6pm PST/9pm ET). Unfortunately they tend to focus on MOTU, Ghostbusters, TMNT, GI Joe etc... Basically they are by their own admission NOT big Transformers fans (Though Jay has a pretty good original collection, you can see Omega Supreme in a case behind him), but they try to cover any relevant news. They actually covered the Robosen Transforming Optimus pretty extensively. Jay purchased one, but then proceeded to trade it for a Haslab Galactus. . I actually reminded them in the chat during the show because they almost forgot to post the chart 8-)

But yeah Deathsaurus is out pacing Victory Saber currently. But I'm not sure if it will have the same big spike in the last few days, especially with no 3rd tier, but we shall see.

No, he is just ever so slightly taller.

It's a half head difference which doesn't sound like much, but looks like a lot side-by-side to me.

Deathsaurus HasLab Page Updates with Hand Painted Model Gallery

Towards the end of the latest Deathsaurus promotional stream on YouTube last Monday it was mentioned that the hand painted model they were showing off was going directly to the photographer after the stream. And now we have those photos all over the HasLab order page replacing the colored CG models revealed nearly two weeks ago. The new gallery brightens up the colors considerably and likely represent our closest look to the final figure. Enjoy the new photos and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub Forums.

I've only just noticed that they articulated the toes on the alt mode so they don't stick out from under his arm. That's a ridiculously cool detail that I doubt we'd have seen on a retail version.

I really wish I could afford this. I thought the block model was awesome but the extra detail on the painted model is gorgeous.

Anyone else disappointed that the 2nd tier was referred to as the last?

Do you think that's a good thing or a bad thing? It's accurate to the original toy and cartoon.

This guy looks fantastic. I didn't like the look of the haslab Star Sabre so I passed on it.
I don't know if I would get this guy on his own.

I am so excited for him, the new color shots make him look stunning. I am now considering getting a 2nd one.

There are so many cool details with this package, it is great!

Dare I say, he looks far FAR better than Victory Saber.

Ooh, we're now at 13,070, only another 930 to hit tier 1, we can definitely do that Monday.

Knowing what we know know about the count updates I'm sticking with my original estimate of of 18,000~ backers. There wont be a big order dump at the end this time and we're at less than 11 days remaining.
