So, like many others who pre-ordered on Amazon, I got Magneous on Tuesday. After a couple days I finally have some time to share some thoughts...

I was surprised in that, since in vehicle form it looks very much like Scraphook, I was surprised to see it was almost completely different. The Transformation is new, they did reuse the windshield/windows to make into a shield but that's about it,everything else is different.

Its going to take more time to see how well these new "Armorizers" work with other bots, but the gimmick is always a fun one. I know the inspiration comes from Rock Creatures in episode 32 of Headmasters, as well as Rock Lords. Still with a name like "Infernac Universe" I'm really hoping there is some sort of Inhumanoids tie-in as well, especially since that series ALSO had a heroic race of Rock People. Looking at past gimmicks however, we've had:

2019 - Weaponizers - A Wonderful way to integrate the Titans smaller components into the line, and give them their own personalities

2020 - Modulators - I especially liked the road building gimmick along with the Shield Battle Masters for this year, but it also gave a new form and new life to the Micromaster Stations that really had none previously.

2021 - Fossilizers - All new characters playing on the popular Dinosaur motif. Complimented Kingdom quite well, and Id welcome mor ein the future

2022 - (Legacy's first year did not have a parts forming TF gimmick)

2023 - Junkions - More parts forming boths, but also fully able to Transform without taking them apart, also bridging out into a Voyager to accompany all the deluxes (and the combined mode) Definitely an awesome assortment of toys for this year

2024 - Armorizers - We have just one so far, but I can't wait to see more. As different as Magneous is from say...Scraphook, I hope when the others are revealed they arent simply templated off of other deluxe junkions, Id like to see some wildly new designs for "rock creature vehicles" 8-)

These new rock guys look very cool, but I hope they give them some more interesting colors. Not all rock is brown or grey, plus these are toys, that should give them leeway when choosing colors, I hope.

As expected.

Don’t see Ramjet there. At Titan class, I do expect a Ramjet. Though Metroplex did not get his, I guess it makes sense.

Maybe we'll get it separately like Brunt or Cog. But considering none of the Armada figures got their mini-cons I'm not expecting it. Doesn't matter much.

Tidal Wave will have removable faux parts to combine with Megatron.

First Look and Hands On Video with Legacy Origin Wheeljack

When a YouTuber also gets to help set up the displays at a toy show it also comes with the perks of being able to handle figures early. That's what happened with Ben Custom Toys was able to work the Hasbro booth at Cybertron Con 2023 in Singapore this weekend giving us early access and our first look at the newly revealed Transformers Legacy United Origin Wheeljack. Surpassing expectations, Voyager Wheeljack does not appear to share any parts with the previous Deluxe Origin Jazz and for the most part seems to be on par with the previous Origins releases. As with the previous releases he's expected to be a Target exclusive, but an image of the box shared on Baidu appears to be a normal United box rather than Buzzworthy Bumblebee. The package also shows that much of the alt mode shell can be removed and probably isn't required to be hung off his back.

Also handled in the video are Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Megatron and Rumble, United Tiger Hawk, Thundertron, Animated Optimus Prime, Animated Bumblebee, Cyberverse Windblade, Rescue Bots Chase, Gamer Edition Starscream, 86 Scrapheap, Reactivate Soundwave, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Starscream, and closeups of others.

That Wheeljack will be a must!

Also, is it just me or it also works as ROTB Pablo's origin?

I’ve been waiting for this Wheeljack forever!! He is what I thought the Seige line was going to be about, I was sorely disappointed when we didn’t get our boxy pre-Earth boy. Haven’t snagged Origin Bee yet, but I certainly am gonna try now.

I seem to be one of the few that just isn't feeling the box look of this fig. easy pass for me just like Jazz was (yes I skipped origins Jazz).

I didn't like Jazz either, but this WJ looks pretty good. It'll be an in-hand decision just like Bee was.

Then again, I'm still high from seeing Tidal Wave...

The combining parts for Megatron look a bit tinier than I was expecting.

I'm curious if there is enough to make a small version of Tidal Wave's warship alt mode, if not a smaller robot mode.

I think there was little choice, which is why it was a mistake to make Tidal Wave a Titan in the first place. Should have been CC. Hasbro did their best to serve BOTH purposes, and maybe it will work, but maybe it wont.

Still, I was secretly hoping they'd try to have the entirety of Titan Tidal Wave as weapons for Leader Class Megatron....

You can never have enough (starts at 1:10)

If there was a mistake, it was trying to incorporate the dumb combining gimmick in the 1st place. Tidal Wave is much better as a Titan than he would have been as a commander.

But I also would have loved to see the titan try to be weapons for Megatron. They probably even tried and just couldn't make it work.

Or they could have been slick and made a deluxe Ramjet and have that partsform into weapons and armor for Megatron. Win-win-win.

It appears there’s an entire Tidalwave in a smaller size, that stores in his torso, and its this that combines with Megs.
Interesting approach.

Yes, I noticed yesterday. I wonder if this smaller faux-TW is just parts or if it can form a smaller version of his alt mode warship as well.

So the origins set is finally complete.

And that Tidal Wave looks awesome. Though it's pretty obvious there'll be no combo with Legacy Armada Megatron...

Actually there's a little tidal wave it comes with that's perfect size for the combination.

Hmm. Looking at those things on his arms, it would seem that Wheeljack has become the new "Gears"... The minions never found Origin Jazz, and I expect Origin Wheeljack will be equally hard/impossible to find based on past instances of Hasbro and Target's 'exclusive' offerings. We shall see!

If it's the same thing in Canada as it in the USA, all of the overflow of the BWBB, Walmart G2, and Pulsecon "exclusives" are finding their way into independent online or brick&mortar geek shops. Just look them up over there.

Or bite the bullet and pay extra shipping to import them from Canada.

That last photo is the money shot for me. Far better proportioned. I'm also seeing a lot of hinges there, are they solely to fold the components up or is there more going on :-?

It would be very fun and hilarious if the combine parts would be able to transform into a Mini-Me Tidalwave.
