The Parco department store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo is hosting the Transformers Museum/The World of Transformers.

Here's a quick write up of what's there.

Admission is 700 yen. You get a free sticker with entry. There was no photography allowed inside the exhibit, but seemingly everybody except me ignored that. Sorry.

The first part of the expo features tons of package art all over the walls along with just about all the G1 heavy hitter figures on display (in incredible condition). There were also a few super early prototypes on display including G1 Galvatron and the full-sized face sculpts for some of the Scramble City combiners. The upcoming new Convoy and Bumblebee masterpiece figures were also on display and they look incredible.

There was a full-sized Bumblebee from the new movie along with a replica of Charlie's garage. A few different movie Bumblebee figures were also on display. There were also small-ish dioramas replicating scenes from the 5 Michael Bay Transformers movies.

The last part of the exhibit was a display of a bunch of cross-over merch. The Nike Transformers, the ATMOS MP Convoy, the cell phone things, Street Fighter stuff, etc.

The gift shop had a few exclusive items like wall hangings and coffee mugs. The exclusive that everybody seemed to want was an art book collecting much of the Japanese G1 and G2 package art. It was 2,800 yen and came with a free plastic poster (also exclusive). There were also shirts, clear files, keychains, stickers, and other books to purchase (including the long out of print Masterpiece guide from 2014 and the new printing of Generations Deluxe). In addition, there were a bunch of recent Transformers toys to purchase at MSRP. Golden Lagoon Convoy, most of the Studio Series stuff, some of the MB figs, etc. These didn't seem to be moving so quick.

It was a fun little exhibit. It only takes about 10 minutes to see everything, but if you're anywhere near Tokyo and you're a Transformers fans, it's worth your time and 700 yen.

On the floor below the exhibit there's a Bumblebee pop-up cafe featuring several different dishes and drinks based on the new movie. It's cute, but not really anything special.
