My combiner crazy friend had an idea. A mad idea. He bought a used CW Cyclonus and he challenged me to make a VERY specific combiner.

Because CW toys are now overpriced and "impossible" to find, we had no choice but to order from AliExpress, a quatuor of KO CW Vortex to sacrifice.



Their plastics feel cheap in hand, but are solid enough to be playable.
While waiting for them to arrive, we chanced upon 1 scrap CW Silverbolt and 3 scrap CW deluxes for basically free, plus one used CW deluxe for cheap at my local geek store. After thinking about it, we changed the whole concept of his custom combiner.
But what about the Fake-copters? It would be a shame to waste them.

Luckily, I had a spare scrap CW Cyclonus in my archives.
So I did the usual. Combining the parts of the scrap CW Cyclonus and Silverbolt, swapping the heads, and repainting.

So here's the mercenary team, Bonusicons!



The only customisation on the copters was to add some over them and to drill some gun ports on the sides of the propeller.

As for the spaceship, I also added some Reprolabels leftovers.



In person, there's no yellow on the wings. Must be a flash thing.





I had on hand a pair of TR Windblade's swords. So I gave them to Greedycus. That rectangle peg on the side of the blades fit perfectly inside the slot just under Greedycus's hand. They peg in solidly this way!

People will recognize the head of the original BW Tigerclaw. The head was perfect for a combiner. Plus I just had to shave the mushroom peg a bit for that head to fit!





The fakes CW pegs works wonderfully on the original torso.





So, what do you guys think of this quick custom?

And how about the REAL big project? I'm still waiting for some Chinese 3D printed hands to come. So, stay tuned!

A neat project idea and way to avoid the KO Vortexes going to waste. Clever use of the spare Windblade swords, and excellent work on the bashing and painting! I love the names too. Do you have a name for the combined mode?

It really is bloody annoying how price-gouged Prime Wars limbs are on eBay... How much did the KO limbs cost on AliExpress?

Yeah, Tigerhawk. As I made my post, it was late at night and was in "zombie mode".

Each Fakecopters were 10$CAN each and cost a total of 10$CAN to ship. So, 50$CAN total. That's the full price of two deluxes with taxes bought at the times of CW. That price does not cover a single deluxe on eBay.

The quality is very "KO" or "Chinese cheap originals". If you ever bought any before, you know. The plastics is HARD and easy to break or stress-mark. Plus it have a distinct smell. At least these copters play like the originals and appart the ports under the propellers that I had to drill, they are excellent for the price.
Not worth collecting at all, but perfect for troop-building or to make silly projects.

The idea of that team is that they are all about THE GREEN. So the combined mode would be GREEDOTRON!
