Sitting: You're Doing It Wrong

This is part 2 in my short series of light-hearted videos about our spines and how to best use them so we can stay active and keep playing well into our old age. It uses some of the information gathered during my PhD research, but don't worry - it's easy to follow.

As someone who regularly has to pop their right shoulder back into place in the morning(I got a severe Rotator Cuff injury and I'm Hyper-Mobile in my joints), this video has been pretty enlightening. Thanks, Mykltron!

Which brings up the point I should really take up Yoga....

Thank you for sharing! You should also do regular strength training, since having a higher number of 'switched on' fibres will increase the elastic resistance stabilising the joints. You've probably already heard that.

I haven't, actually - my physiotherapist was almost completely useless.... ;)^

A big reason that as an artist - I try to do all my painting standing up, so it stops me getting a bad back at the end of the day. I'd rather have sore legs...
