'Tis a shame as I have a shiney new message there just waiting to be read.

I have removed the bad private messages from the database that were part of the data that was caused by the failed scuzzy drive last Friday. This problem shouldn't happen again unless a scuzzy drive goes bad again. ** crosses fingers **

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing. Are you talking about the main index page or the individual forum sections? Can you post a link to the page that you're having the problem with? It sounds like it's something wrong with the field that keeps track of when you last visited. Speaking of which, when you return to the website, does the "You last visited [insert date here]" text look correct for your user account?

Whenever you go to a board for the first time, all of the threads with new posts are shown with the orange icon.
After the first visit, even if you do not leave the site, only threads that have posts seconds old will show as unread, even if you haven't read the other ones that were previously showing as unread.

Really? I know that my post has gone missing because of the 'server problems'. Ok that's fine.

But I know for a fact that at least 2 posts have been deleted from this thread. 1 by Shin and 1 by Madasshater.

By the way, did they really do anything to deserve a ban?
(ok Shin maybe.....)

I really want to say more about what problems I think there are, but I'm not ready for a ban yet.

It sounds like you answered your own question if their posts indeed had to be censored. :-?

The reason Shin and Madasshatter were banned was because they were immaturely altering there accounts to mirror other members on the site in order to pretend to be those members and then posting in manner to intentionally start conflict between other members on the board.

As long as you don't do something like that and keep it civil, then you won't be banned. Their banning, imo, is deserved by their immature attempts to cause conflict. Posting problems that you are having in this thread should not and, I imagine, will not cause you to be banned.

If they want back on the website, they can send me a message to my Gmail account and we can see if we can work things out.

Thanks Predaprince. Please keep this topic on track about actual technical problems that you're experiencing with this site. Thanks everyone.

Can't say I saw anyone attempt to stir conflict between other posters. They didn't flame anybody or break any forum rules. If it's merely a case of having the same usernames I'm sure altering them via Admin functions would have been a better way to resolve the problem.

It's fortunate you don't have a say in bannings then, disallowing a litle immaturity on a Transformers fansite would leave these forums a desolate place.

As I said above, please keep this topic on track about technical problems with the site. Banned members are not open for discussion in this thread. I will remove any further posts in this thread about that subject because it is irrelevant to the thread.

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I had a problem with the Search function - in layman's terms, it doesn't work.

Searches come up empty every time, for me. Even when I search for 'Transformers.'

Actually, this is something that has been a problem with the site ever since I registered, maybe even ever since I started lurking. Not once have I had a search that's hurled up any results; I too have tried 'Transformers' and other things such as 'Cyclonus', 'Scourge', 'Optimus Prime', etc. In the end I had to search via Google's "site:" parameter, and even then that produced minimal results.

I never mentioned it because a) I kept forgetting and b) it's not crucial to my enjoyment of the site.

Also, Ryan, I know exactly what Bun-Bun is referring to with regards to the New Post icons. As soon as I log in or go to the site via favourites, the Forum Index will indicate that each forum has new posts by showing the orange icon. However, if I click on any one of those specific forums then none of the threads have the orange icon (i.e., it believes they've all been read).

Similarly, if I'm on an entirely unrelated site (Google, for example) and I type the full URL to go straight into a particular forum (e.g., Toys) it will indicate that there are x-amount of unread threads with the orange icon. If I click to read any one of these new posts, then go back to the Forum itself having read only one, it says all the new posts have been read (or at least the orange icons have disappeared).

Does that make sense? It seems to be both the Index and the individual Forums.

Still can't use the option that prevents signatures from being displayed. Sorry, guys, even if I have one myself, I don't care for the majority of the ones here and would rather just block them all.

After I send a PM, it doesn't always appear in my Outbox or my Sent folder. I'm not getting an error message either. Does this mean that the recepients are not receiving my PM's?

That's impossible.

You must be mistaken.

I couldn't access the site all morning. It would take forever to load a page with only the words, "Could not access SEIBERTRON.com Database" or something along those lines.

Also, the box at the bottom that lists all active users is listing people who aren't active.

A few of the reply links to the posts bring me to the following error page:

The topic or post you requested does not exist

I just saw a curious problem. In the sightings section for TRU Commerative Soundwave, it reports 20 sightings, but the listing of all the sightings only shows 13.

While we're on the subject of the sightings section,
Thw "watch list" has not worked for me in a very long time.

Any word on that?

Here's another sightings section problem (at least, I think it might be):
I added a store to the Sightings section: a Comic Book Shop in Quebec, Canada. There weren't any other comic shops for the province before I added mine. Now, the Comic Book Shop section is there, but when I select it, I see this error: "There are no stores in the database that match this query."

More a question than reporting a problem. Is there any way to change the time display so that it matches with a member's local time? I'm asking because my posts seem to appear two hours behind the actual Eastern Daylight Time (my local time zone) and I didn't see anything to change that in my profile page.

I've also been wondering about that.

I've also noticed that some members' join date is listed as being in 1969. I'm pretty sure that information is false...
