It most likely won't be very impressive. :-s

I did get a stand for it for stability. I was also going to get a tool kit for easier building and Gundam markers for panel lining, but I had to cut those out due to cost concerns. Might also not apply the stickers at first, the sprue marks'll be visible, probably not going to topcoat it, definitely not painting it...basically just gonna be an amateur snap-together build. Blasphemy, I know.

That's fine, I didn't paint mine till I was comfortable with the making process, and brave enough to try painting (I always fret about what could go wrong). As for the paneling I used a fine tip pen, 0.1mm tip, picked it up from a hobby shop as part of my drawing tools. When starting off there are cheaper tools available, and sometimes they may be even better than the pricer stuff. It all comes down to what you find comfortable to use and what you want for the model in the end. As long as your happy with it.

Oh, it was cheap, just not cheap enough.

Either way, thanks for the assurance.

So I finished up 00 Quant. (I can't get the same name twice, but I am imagining his name is 00 Quant cause it sounds cool).

Overall, he was interesting. He and Barbatos are a lot like MP-36 and Titans Return Megatrons really. Quant is like MP-36: he is detailed, he is very posable, not many things get in the way, and he has some cool accessories, but with the major drawback that getting him to this mode was such a pain. It took me 9 hours with him compared to 5 with Barbatos, and I had to spend a half hour finding how I missed 4 parts and locating where they were supposed to go (and I check to make sure they were supposed to go on him). And his stand he comes with is not set up for him, he cannot attach to it! it's useless! Good thing I had a spare that i got with him when I didn't know he came with a stand (they were both birthday gifts). Barbatos is a lot like TR Megs where he was more fun to get to the mode he's in now, but he isnt' as posable, some things get in the way, and his weapons are a bit lame compared to Quant and can get in the way.

But Barbatos has a really awesome stylization to him, and his name rocks, and he looks great on a stand so he is still awesome. Quant is more posable and the weapons are more awesome and are more useful, so both have nice pluses.

But both are good. I am not looking forward to the week it'll probably take to put blue Frame (I'm gonna call this guy Atlas, for obvious reasons), but I still look forward to having all 3 together.

Well, have some round the body shots of the new Quant! And see him from last night when he was nearly done, complete with my Skillet CD.

Nice work d-max! Sucks about quants display stand but these things do happen. Although you're calling blue frame atlas what would you do if you got gundam atlas? ;-) he's worth the Google as he's one of the more inspired designs to come out of thunderbolt s2

I've seen Atlas in the same store I bought all 3 of mine! Not a fan of the giant kibble curves though, sorry guys. I like mine pointy with shoulder, back, and hip spikes!

Lol that's the good thing about gundam, there's something for everything, and yes the backpack on the atlas isnt my cup of tea either, I prefer sleeker looking gundams...or ones that look like pirates like crossbone gundam

Most impressive. I can agree on that base being totally useless. I did have a couple of questions.

First off, how did you get the GN sword to stay in the hand? Mine always had issues just going in. Did you use some kind of paint?

Weight distribution. That upper torso rotator tends to lean left once you add on the pack. What did you do to solve it?

I don't deny it looks good. But I just feel the finished product needed some more QC on Bandai's part. That or I just got a dud.

His hand has a tab on it, and the sword a small tab as well, so it plugs into his hand like a lot of posable handed Transformers do.

I'm not sure I solved the upper torso rotator per se, the sword and the shield sort of balanced each other out, and I have him posed leaning into the side with his shield now, so it isn't really an issue that I have looked into

Gonna start building as soon as we finish dinner. Gonna try and get the 00 finished today, and the 0 Raiser tomorrow, but...it's my first kit, so we'll see what happens. Any suggestions with applying stickers?

Take your time with stickers, by that I mean go slowly. If you have water transfers the same applies. Also don't feel like you have to rush the build, take your time and enjoy yourself :-)

Planned on it. But, I mean, how should I actually apply them? Any suggestions?

Tweezers, and cotton buds if you have them. Use the cotton buds to gently push it into place.

Amazon. Got it for...50 or 60, if I remember correctly. Got a stand coming in for it in another week or so. In the meantime, I'm terrified of him falling over.

I'm looking at getting the Master Grade Exia Ignition, 00 Qan[T], Freedom 2.0, Wing Proto Zero, Deathscythe Hell, Epyon, and GM Sniper II. I think I'm only gonna go High Grade for Build Fighters stuff.

Oh, and uh, are 1/100 stands able to just have the Gundam standing, serving as support? Or does the Gundam have to be in the air?

Generally you can have the stand doing whatever you want (within reason) if you want flying, it can do that, you want standing? Can do that as well :-) the stands are also connectable for duel posing.

Also when I asked how you found it, I meant how you found the building process :-P  no worries though that wish list of yours sounds good

Oh, oh! Well, the build was long (took three multi-hour sessions), but it wasn't all that difficult or confusing. The only thing that bugged me was applying the stickers (only did the foils, there were waaaay too many decals and I have no idea how to apply waterslides) and being worried about thin parts.
