So after taking another look at Metalhawk and comparing him to the original design, I... am suddenly liking him an awful lot more. I think previously I was just too hung up on one specific angle and too used to the IDW design (I haven't watched Masterforce or read Wings or anything) to really make a connection... but this redeco actually hits all the right beats and ends up actually improving upon the original design.



So... yeah. Metalhawk's a winner for me!

Topspin and Twintwist are definite wants. Best new things there for Titans Return IMO.
I'd like to get Trypticon but other things will probably take priority.
Ramhorn looks like another awesome Titanmaster.

Now onto the TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENTS.
Overlord. Literally the two things I didn't want happened. He has the blocky G1 asthetic and the Masterforce headsculpt. I think I'd rather try and get the beauty that is MMC's Carnifex.
And now that the excitement has worn off Nautica is pretty shite. Hopefully MMC or another 3rd party can give us the figure Nautica deserves. Even though it'll probably be too tall next to Gen SkidsShouldve been Conjunx Endura

Everybody also falls under the "neat but not for me" and "meh" categories.

Oh oh just had an awesome idea! We all acknowledge that scourge would have been a better starting point right. And we just got a fembot using the base scourge mold. I'm going to put windblade's torso on scourge and get the shapeways nautica head, throw windy's turbines on it, and paint it purple. It may take some effort but it should look good and still be cheaper.

Perhaps Thunderwing and Rodimus are semi-suitable for Voyager Optimus and Voyager Megatron. though Thunderwing would also look OK on Octone and Rodimus might look OK on Sentinel or Hotrod too. in general though just use them to crew bases or add them to the second cockpit some leaders have - or in the case of Roddy - feed him to Trypticon.

That would actually work pretty well, assuming there'd be some sort of hinge (or, in a perfect world, a balljoint) connecting the back wing things and the fans.

It won't , you need to face in the Titan Masters so it can activate the Gimmick of it

These TM implants are definitely my favorite part of this Overlord -- and at ~140 less than MMC's Masterpiece that is Carnifex, it'll make my decision difficult as to which one I ultimately get....

I still want that Speed set! I'll also take Ramhorn & Twintwist.

If they're sorta kinda doing the implant thing with Overlord then i wonder if they'll ever give us Deathsaurus

Isn't that the rumor as to why they wanted to push him so hard as a Prime?

I don't think that was ever an option. They were doing primal from the start and most people knew it.

A remarkable turn-out of figures. Bravo, Hasbro!

It's cool that those in the west now have retail access to a Powermaster Prime compatible with Takara's Godbomber. Not so cool that it comes after they have most likely bought the one that isn't.

Overlord is looking very G1-faithful. I won't be supplanting Carnifex with him, but I wouldn't be disappointed with him if I had no interest in third party offerings. The same can be said of Fastlane and X2Toys' Furrow.

I like that Nautica is getting new love. Not sure I'm keen on its delivery. A purple Blurr with two lift fans seems unsightly.

I've no desire for Windblade, but should Misfire get a remould from her I'd be very welcome.

I see no need for the Thunderwing Titan Master, but having seen TR Hot Rod sporting FansProject's Protector set there is a place for that.

Tidal Wave is a nice effort, but a little wide of the mark.

Blitzwing is just as good as I had imagined he would be, Octone even more so. He's glorious.

With all the new reveals I figured I'd take a step back give anyone still hunting for the wave 3 deluxes hope. Found them at a local Wal-Mart today.

Guess I will post my list as well:

Overlord- Looks great, admittedly after seeing MMC Carnifex I am a tiny bit let down. But for the money all day. Plus I love how they have the 2 titanmaster spots on the chest so he can use/steal their powers.

Ramhorn- Love it and sweet looking face on titanmaster.

Seaspray- Been waiting forever for a good Sunbow one, finally.

Twintwist- So super sweet and badass looking, just as good as Top Spin. Really they are in the top TR figure list.

Windblade- I actually still need a Windblade, wanted the RiD one but can't find a decent price. So I may get this one after seeing more of it.

Blitzwing- He looks decent but now maybe someone will be offloading their T30 one on ebay cheap I can pick up.

Octane- Always been one of my favorite Decepticons. This one is just pretty good, I may get him though.

Brawn- Saw him still looking like the kickass, perfect bot he is in there.

That G2 Laser Optimus Prime looks way better than it has a right to, so awesome. First half of the clones looks sweet too. Nautica, a bit of a let down. I am a big IDW fan and expected better. Another figure that titanmasters just wont work on with her head. Even though I probably will not buy any of the box sets, they look good, in parts.

Fastlane and Pounce look like they almost work exactly like the G1 toys. Especially Fastlane.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean, I like a little bit of update in my updates.

I'm psyched for that Lay-zor Prime. Looks SO good. I had planned all along on getting the voyager in hopes Reprolabels would do those graphics, so thanks Uncle Hasby! You just helped me trim some fat.
