With the designers saying that proper pretenders are near-impossible to do, I think a Thunderwing out of this mold is also acceptable. Maybe some retooling to incorporate characteristics of the pretender shell.

I've just noticed the homage to the Megavisor's flip-cover, that's so cool!

Bitstream (@BiscapeNet on Twitter) has done a digibash of this guy in G1 colours and I LIKE it.

If they do those then they've really got to do that rumored and then denied Stunticon retool into Thunderclash and the other Turbomasters.

Absolutely. Unfortunately Hasbro do have a track record of not doing complete teams or doing them in different styles so they don't match. So it wouldn't surprise me if we get G1 Skyquake, one Predator jet, Thunderclash and a Turbomaster or two and then a series or two down the track other members but they don't match the aesthetic of the other team members.

They're missing the boat though if, at the very least, we don't get a new mold for Stalker, Thunderclash and Rotorstorm (not going to count the previous release) because there's your Machine Wars leaders effectively taken care of.

I really, really want a G1 Skyquake. This is a great design but I don't care for the muted olive colors, and I don't need to build out the entire Prime squad even though I did get Arcee, Bulkhead, and Knockout.

I still feel cheated that we didn't get a Stalker from Earthrise Doubledealer, but maybe it's not too late.

Just wondering if this is a hot take or not... But am I the only one who thinks Lio Convoy as a character (thats what I'll always call him) is just overall way better than Optimus Primal? I mean it could be mostly because I have a preference of cats over primates but...

In 1998, I attended my first Botcon, and I was all in on BWII from the start, mostly because we were getting animated representations of many of the characters that weren't in the Mainframe BW show (back then to me, despite the different names and color schemes, they WERE the same characters, until IDW BW resource officially made characters such as B'Boom,/Apache truly different for example).

I got Lio Convoy and Galvatron right away, and always enjoyed them. I never had the OG Primal and BW Megatron (although I did get TM and TMII versions later). * After getting individual copies of Lio and Galvatron, I go the 2 pack set and kept in MIP, I did the same for Big Convoy/Magmatron. Takara did release a 2 pack of the original Primal and BW Megatron, which I intended to get at one time to compliment those other sets, but I was never able to find one at a decent price, and that collection is long gone anyway.*

The same can be said today. I never got Primal or BW Megs during Kingdom, but I'm definitely getting Lio Convoy when he comes out, and if they ever do make a BWII Galvatron, I'll definitely get him as well.

So which Predator jet do we think is the most likely to get made to go with this hypothetical Skyquake repaint? None of them really look like Needlenose, so I kinda assume that they would just go by popularity/number of media appearances and do Snare?

Considering they're only just putting out a repaint of Astrotrain now, that Doubledealer mold should still have plenty of time.

Considering they're only just putting out a repaint of Astrotrain now, that Doubledealer mold should still have plenty of time.

I think Snare is the most likely Predator jet repaint.

When Legacy deluxe Needlenose was revealed in a livestream, he was shown to have lots of playability with his targetmasters. They were shown to have 4 other playability modes with Needlenose, along with their robot modes. That was then followed by a small comment saying that there was another secret function with Needlenose and things were left at that. Well, thanks to more images from Sonic Bomber-Core, it looks like that has been revealed. Needlenose seems to fit perfectly with Legacy Skyquake, thanks to some grooves/pegs. This could be that extra fuctionality since it resembles the look G1 Skyquake would have when his Predator jets connected with him. Back then, the connection was to reveal and image through a lens which was that toy's gimmick, but this would be an homage to the "docking" look it would have. That gives further proof (not that we needed much more) that Legacy Skyquake would come out in G1 colours and this connection point would be for a new Predator jet toy using the Needlenose mold.

Of course, these are all assumptions, but there is definitely a purposeful connection point found, so we'll see to what extent all these guesses will be shown to be right. That would explain why the Needlenose mold had an extra secret function that could not be revealed during Needlenose's reveal.

The pictures also show how the weapon is stored in alt mode.

This will probably mean that Needlenose will get retooled into one of the Predator jets, huh? I wonder if the Targetmasters will be redecoed if that's the case, maybe into Quake's partners?

This is G1-ified Prime Skyquake, not to be confused with the Prime-ified G1 Skyquake redeco expected to come later.

This does make me wonder what they'll do with the Animated figures, while I didn't mind the Prime offerings, I can definitely see why Prime fans don't like them.
But I am intrigued to see if they'll lean harder into the Animated style or if they'll do spliced designs like this. Judging how this figure is a head retool away from being a stylised G1 Skyquake, I feel like it could be the latter...

It's been confirmed by Hasbro that the Animated designs will be G1-ified too.

Ah, well, I just hope they at least look good. I like how this Skyquake figure looks (I am very biased towards big jet dudes, though), and I enjoyed Knock Out, so I hope the Animated figures will look cool too.

That is Prime Universe Skyquake. But it has so many G1 nods that it is assumed by all that it will be redeco'd into G1 Skyquake.
