It would have freed up sone of the budget of the Targetmasters to go towards Needlenose himself. But it's either this or the hella expensive TFCC figure.
Selects is for redecos and remolds, though, not new molds. In order for Needlenose to have been released in Selects, he would've had to have been a redeco of an existing mold instead of his own new mold.
Is that a rule Hasbro specifically stated?
At this point (almost four years into the line), it kinda goes without needing to say. Selects is basically the replacement for/spiritual successor to the BotCon/TCC exclusives.

Well, some remolds in Select are so extensive, they might as well be their own brand new molds at this point.

Perfect example: Super Megatron.

I think we should distinguish between Takara Sekects, which can have extensive remolds, and Hasbro Selects which is very much like Botcon toys.

New Junkion - CrimevsCrime.jpg

Seems smaller than I would have thought and apparently, it suffers from a hollow head...

Still, this might mean we can get more variety of future Junkions for army building with any eventual remolded/repainted versions?

I couldn't find legit photos of this figure at Seibertron's main news page (although I only skimmed the front page admittedly) so here's a link to pics by one of the designers:

Scraphook looks great, but I may wait until we see the next Deluxe Junkion before I decide whether or not to buy them. I never really got into the Weaponizers/Fossilizers, but I do like the vehicle modes of the Junkions in the promo art. I feel like I should also get Wreck-Gar too if I start getting Junkions, thankfully you can still get him for a reasonable price online.

Do we know if Scraphook has any kind of interaction with the other Junkions? It's weird to think of one them not being a bike...

The Evolution Junkions are like the Fossilizers/Modulators/Weaponizers from Siege where they break apart and can swap parts between them like in the movie. I don't believe this applies to Wreck-Gar and Junkyard, however you can still give them pieces because of the 5mm ports they have

Ok, I see. For a moment, I thought Scraphook was being quietly placed as the body/core to a future, unnamed Junkion combiner.

Scraphook looks like a decent figure, & the gimmick is obvsly great for Junkion characters.
And yet, I have zero interest.

I want every Junkion. I already have a few, but I want enough for a proper faction. So I'm on board.

I got the "A hero is born" set the other day. It's pretty good, but it meets my expectations of Alpha Trion being just too much like Scourge to be AT. I mean the mold really fits well, but Scourge is just soi distinctive that I have a hard seeing him as AT, especially in vehicle mode.

Orion Pax, however, hits all the right notes. It'd be great if someone made a 3P trailer for him, but I fear those days are over.

All in all I have no regrets on buying the set. It's really great, and this AT is probably the best official version we've ever gotten.

No cap…
I don’t want him to be an exclusive, but if the only way to get Sunstreaker back onto pegs is by adding him to the Buzzworthy line, so be it.
Hastak should also retool Breakdown’s spoiler for him and throw that in too.

I think AT & OP look great, but they just don’t fit in my collection.

I also wish Scraphook’s face & head sculpts were different… It’s almost like they tried to make him too badass-looking… Junkions may be tough, but for me they should have that borderline goofy, awkward look.
I’m also not a fan of how much smaller these deluxes will be compared to Wreck-gar & Junkheap.
Overall these just aren’t for me.

As far as we know the following are set to be repacked next year:
-Legacy Tarantulas
-All 3 retail Legacy Leader Class figures from this year (Laser OP, Blitzwing, TM2 Megs)
-ER Ramjet and Dirge
-Possibly Kingdom Cheetor and ER Wheeljack (we have no evidence for or against these repacks having been actually cancelled and not just pushed back)
-Core Class Bomb-Burst and Starscream
Nothing on Sunstreaker.

Desperately need a Sunstreaker re-issue.

Not sure why Wheeljack gets so much attention and Sunstreaker gets nothing.

I believe the running theory is it's because Wheeljack is set to be in Rise of the Beasts in addition to his presence in all the recent shows, which would explain why they would be interested in repacking specifically him and Cheetor and why they either pushed back or cancelled those repacks in conjunction with the movie getting pushed back.

Either that or it's just a coincidence of timing I guess?

Not sure that theory holds much water.

We haven’t seen Primal 4 different times or Mirage… they’re in the movie too.

Why single out Wheeljack? Not only does he get 4 different releases of the Siege mold, he also gets an SS BB movie release.

Is he a good seller? Do kids see Wheeljack and are attracted to him?

I’m all for Wheeljack, I love Wheeljack. Liked him in G1, loved him in Prime. I own a ton of Wheeljacks, But do we really need the same toy 4 or 5 different times in what 2 years?

I have to assume he is, otherwise, it makes no sense for Hasbro to keep putting him out.
The actual question is, is he that good of a seller. I can still easily find Earthrise and Kingdom in most places I look.
Netflix probably harder to find at this point. Does it really justify another release?

Heaven forbid Wheeljack becoming the next Bumblebee... Sunstreaker is yellow like Bumblebee, he's a better fit for that role.

First, I'm glad to have been able to buy this at my local GameStop. I saved around 30$ of shipping. Plus my Edge Platinum membership brought back the prices of the toys to the current normal full price. Meaning 40$can for the deluxe and 50$can for the voyager. Plus I get a bonus disco ball.

As expected, it's the simple "eco friendly" no plastics packaging with the accessories wrapped in brown paper. That box will find it's way to the recycling bin. It's worthless to keep IMO.

Image

The bots are just perfect. I think those are the best representation of Orion Pax and Alpha Trion. Pax get his "gum pack" from Cup, but Mr Trion don't get Scourge's blast effect for some reason. Even if I don't care about the Vector Sigma thing, but it's fun to have it.

The Cup mold is not very intuitive to transform but at least the vehicle is perfect. As for the Scourge mold, it's a breeze and everything is tight.

I don't think the set is worth the extra 30 to 60$ some people have to pay, but if you can have it locally from Pulse or GameStop with free shipping at the normal price, it's totally worth it.

Also, an update to my old ALL HELICOPER VICTORION!

Haven't heard anything about Hasbro Pulse shipping out or even charging people for this set yet.
