I unfortunately missed out on Super Megatron, but the other part is exactly what I do. Gotta shave down that peg, though, for best results.

I love SS86 Wreck-Gar and Junkheap. Even more with Legacy Crashbar and Scraphook as their riders.

Image

I have G1 Wreck-Gar but I have no idea who would be his perfect rider. Ideally, it must be a G1 bot who would not only be able to ride, but would also fit the Junk theme. :-?

Just finding a G1 figure with legs articulated enough to ride it would be rough. Even more so one of those that also looks kinda Junkionish. Maybe if u wanted to repaint a Motormaster? Off the top of my head. Also make the squared off spot where his head is a tv ;)

Thinking about it, I could always buy a "naked" G1 Hun-Grr and mod it into some sort of Mad-Max style vehicle.

Like I did with the Combiner Wars some years ago. ;)

Despite my dislike of the non-accurate colors in a few locations, this is a fantastic figure.
I will say the head joint is too tight, but the snug joints everywhere else are very welcomed.

Relatively speaking, it feels so so good to finally have this guy in my collection.
Based on looks alone, he's probably in my top 10 favorite Decepticon characters, and definitely in my top 10 mainline Decepticon figures.

At first I had no interest in the leaked 1986 Commander Ultra Magnus, but unfortunately my Kingdom Ultra Magnus is really showing its age, some of the tabs for the trailer snapped as I was transforming him today, I've tried fixing them back on with super glue, only for one to snap off again even worse. So now, I don't know if I should wait to see what 1986 Commander Ultra Magnus looks like and buy one, or just buy another Kingdom Ultra Magnus because their aftermarket prices aren't too bad. I've also thought about selling my Earthrise Megatron on Ebay for some extra money, then get the "MV6" Megatron next year, so I'm hoping it's 1986 rather than that unused Bumblebee movie design. I wouldn't even mind that much if he's still a tank.

Personally, as someone who keeps their TF's in bot mode 99% of the time for display only, I don't feel the need for an accurate trailer for UM that can fit cars etc. as I don't transform it into vehicle mode to "play" with of feature it in that manner because it would take up even more space than in bot mode. So for me the trailer is a part of the bot mod and isn't really a separate thing to feature and joints don't wear out as quickly since I'm not constantly transforming them.

As for SS86 versus Kingdom they're both in the $55 range as Leaders so I don't think it really matters which version to get to replace the worn out figure, though it does give SS86 the advantage since it will slightly differ in deco for 86 versus WFC?

The recent leak said SS86 Ultra Magnus would be the first Commander for Studio Series rather than a Leader, so it'll be more expensive at the very least. I'm guessing he'll also be taller and have a more complex transformation as well. Right now I'm thinking I'll just buy another Kingdom Ultra Magnus because I like the mould, but the Commander has got me interested.

Oh that's right, I forgot that they were going for soaking an extra $35 from a $50 mold somehow. lol
But hey, if it appeals to someone with endless funds to over pay, why not.

What? I haven't seen anyone claim this is a reissue a la Coronation Starscream, I was expecting something analogous to Kingdom Rodimus versus PotP Rodimus.

With all that SS86 "Commander" Ultra Magnus talk, this reminds me of the KFC Dia Stacks that I bought recently. A 100$can on clearance it was a good price but no way would this thing be worth its original 200$+ price. The way it was made though, I could see Hasbro making exactly that, but in scale with Generations. Still, I don't know what more could it be compared to the old CW Leader to justify the Commander price.

I am curious to see the final product and what exactly can possibly set it apart from a Leader Class or worth the boost in price. Not that's it's reuse of Kingdom Magnus, but even if it is all new mold for the cab it's still a Leader same as Prime. What makes him beefier as a bot is the trailer add on, which IMO doesn't warrant Commander Money. It's basically the same as Prime's trailer really, a shell. At least Rodimus Prime's trailer converts to a battle platform.

That said I will say Kingdom Magnus does seem a bit too short when next to OP. Though it's not exactly like he towers over OP either. IDK

What makes you think it's going to have a cab robot figure with armor pieces that form a trailer, instead of being a single whole figure formed entirely by the cab and trailer together with no cab robot (like the Masterpiece or the Combiner Wars toys)?

There's already some rumours stating that apparently, that the figure is more like Masterpiece/CW. As always though we'll wait and see what actually turns up. It shouldn't be too long till we get an official reveal

Studio Series 86 Snarl found in Canadian Gamestop

Postby william-james88 » Mon May 01, 2023 9:44 pm

We have news that Transformers Studio Series 86 leader class Snarl has been found at Canadian retail. Prime Sinister found him at a Gamestop in Markville, Ontario . Judging from the photos below, either there is no wavemate or this leader is shipping in solid cases in Canada.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

I got him preordered on Amazon for August, but I guess I'll have to swing by Target and Wal-Mart just in case, even though mine are notoriously behind schedule.

Sludge is still shipping to stores (seen him at both Walmart and Target in the past week) and he's on Amazon through several sellers for $53.

Yep, I went to both my Target and Wal-Mart in search of Snarl and Target had Sludge while Wal-Mart still had Slag and a Grindor. They must have stumbled on a lost case in the back.
