Man, all I have ever had was my Megatron from childhood and I remember when I got him at Christmas, I was crying because I couldn't get him transformed right (I was 3 and I remember it like it was recent a binge drinking blackout night).

Anyway I still have the (remnants of) figure from then and I always thought it was just a flimsy piece of crap figure. I have heard lots of praise for it on the net and never understood. Well I finally decided to get the re-re-issue of TFC 06. Man, this figure is AWESOME! It's like going back in time to have a version of this with TIGHT joints, I mean they CLICK! it's insane. The proportions are a little wonky but they always were.

Bring on MP-05!!! I snapped some photos of this with my collection but I can't find a USB cable, I'll upload them wheN I can.

Anyone else really love this figure?

I got love for G1 Megs. One of my first and favs.

i have a huge soft spot for him for a few reasons. i was an odd kid of sorts, wereass everyone had to have every autobot there was, i had to have the cons. every kid wanted to play he man, and i wanted to be skeletor or hordak kicking there buts, and i most certainly never played fair.

megatron and starscream, specificly starscream made me fall in love with villans. a good hero is only as memorable as his villan. and a very very few kids at school had megatron, and he was all chrome, which made him sexy. i never got a close look at the robot, so i never realised how crappy compared to a few others it was, but at that time, when imagination was still key it didnt matter.

so i decided i had to have one, and megatron became the first ever toy i saved up for, robot points and all. i wanted reflector too, but i had to have megatron from the catalouge

now, my mom was a die hard hippie, and she had a couple silly strict rules. and they were:

absolutly no toy guns of any kind, not even waterguns, and no g i joes PERIOD because they represent war and war is bad.

now im sure your already thinking in your head, umm but arnet transforemrs at war?

i tried explaining that to my mom too, thinking it would help, but i guess its a good thing she never got the drift, because then i might have not been alowed to have any of my transformers..... and the crapload of leader 1 gobots they kept giving me when i asked for a tf...

anyhoo, i finaly saved the cash and points to get megatron mail away, and went to my dad to have it mailed. i was soooooo happy and excited, i was gonna get megatron! sexy chrome~... imagin my surprise when i get sunstreaker and ratchet in the mail instead....

my dad of course showed my mom, who decided to tell me, after her replacements arrived, that they had run out, and i had to get something else..... she coulda at least got me reflector instead...

so i went megatronless for years, and ratchet, being crap was imidiatly destroyed by starscream and his army of wannabe gobot jets. sunstreaker lost his fists, and eventualy was taken by a fire that consumed quite a few of my toys.

after years, and my ninja turtles binge, and entering my adult years, going from kid, to geek, to "eccentric collector" i finaly got my hands on a megatron, he was robot only, torn to crap, and loose as all hell, but he was finaly mine. him and a broken, painted on galvatron, and a broken shackwave

i spent years restoreing that, finding peices and parts at garage sales, online and through trades, and then that realy decent quality bootleg came out, and i gutted it. then reprolabled it, and he was a perfect minty fresh, tight jointed god. finaly i had both of my childhoof villanous idols.... then my roomate destroyed it.

but now, thanks to a friend, the reissue of the reissue, and a fairly decent price from action hq, only $60 till they ran out, im finaly getting a minty fresh one.

so im one of those who will always advocate megatron gun not tank!! even though tank totaly makes more sence

megatron is chrome with a BFG on his arm to blow away meaningless headless wanna be autobots and retard gobots!!..... and the ocasional heman buzzoff and bravestar, and whatever other toys that deserver punishment for not being sexy chrome.. except starscream because he pwns megs, always and forever..... now if only starscream were sexy chrome.

but still,, even a minty fresh in box megs, doesnt have all the effort and heart i put into that restored one..

I still have my original G1 Megatron. It was given to me as a kid. My mom didn't care for it but my dad thought it was cool. I remember that was a gift at xmas from him not both my parents. Anyways, Megs is still in pretty good shape. I have all his pieces. Still transforms. Stands on his own. I totally love G1 Megatron.

I never had Megatron as a kid, so when I first knew about the 2001 release I got one straightaway. Yup, the proportions are out, but there's just *something* about the figure that's so outstanding.

Move over to late 2006 and I had sold virtually all my Transformer collection as room was becoming an issue. Megatron went to a new home.

Out of all the figures I sold, he was the only one I missed so as of yesterday I'm now the proud owner of TFC-06 Megatron and this time he's staying for good!

Well, I have the opposite of you Immortal Starscream, my mum liked my playing with War/Combat toys and likes me collecting them. I already know what my X-Mas or B-Day pressy is this year, G1 Megs, for the fact he is damned sexy.

i didn't get the original first season G1 toys when i was a kid coz i was too young (first transformer i ever owned was a Horrocon Snapdragon) but ever since my friend got me back into transformers 1 and a half years ago i've really wanted to own all the G1 transformers.

so earlier last year at Auto Assembly i was able to pic up the japanese reissue of megatron (S-16) and its definately one of my favourite G1 TF's. I just love the weighty feel of it as all this time my collection was full of plastic figures and i was really suprised, and as soon as you put all the kit onto megs it just looks stunning.

as a kid i was mainly a fan of Starscream (such a cool name ) and Hotrod (i totally loved the alternate mode in the movie, awesome sports car)

so now my collections growing bit by bit but i wouldn't think it would be complete without the original G1 megs and Prime.

(i also totally love the classics megs just because he is a gun and its a true G1 homage, naturally i keep the gun/scope positioned above his arm)

Sunstreaker and Ratchet instead of Meg ? nonono

I had one for a while about 2 years back. I ended up selling him for $60 to someone on here because I just couldn't enjoy the figure. For the price I paid I was afraid of taking it out of the box and playing with him. And that's just not enjoyable for me. It's a toy. It's meant to be played with but whenever I would think about it my mind would wander to how much I paid.

Same reason I sold my G1 Jetfire a while back. Great figure but for the price I couldn't bring myself to enjoy it as a toy. It no longer was a toy to me but a collectors piece.

Next thing up is my VF-1S Valkyrie that the Jetfire figure came from.

I resently bought the KO (dont have the funds for a real one) and i love it... not only is he the famous leader of the decepticons but he has play value in his gun mode too... cant wait for masterpiece

I got my reissue a week ago. Never had G1 Megatron before. His robot mode isnt pretty but he changes into a great looking model gun. Love the figure and well worth the money.
